August 2004: perfect winter weather greets the team for the first day of the planting season.

2004 season summary

The 2004 planting season was a great success, with an amazing 33,520 seedlings planted on 40 sites!

Our combined efforts protected or restored about 64½ ha of habitat on private land, plus another 22¾ ha on roadsides. That's 87¼ ha in total, or 220 acres to make it even more impressive.

Good rains over winter and spring left the lower, flatter country with good soil-moisture, even in early December. So we continued planting to finish off several roadside sites, and then it rained every day for a week. We were very lucky indeed!
